Specialist Furniture Designer Julie Corcoran (nee Johnson), owner of Design in Detail; has over twenty years experience working within the Commercial furniture design and manufacturing industry.
Working predominantly within the Hospitality, Retail, Education, Health, Office, and Visitor experiences sectors. Supporting furniture manufacturers, specifiers, architects and interior designers.
Qualified Designer and member of the Chartered Society of Designers, Julie Corcoran’s knowledge of materials, manufacturing and craft cabinet makers methods, support her concept designs and engineering expertise. Creating a very unique set of skills which come together as Design in Detail; from initial design, through to development and engineering drawings.

Julie will be as creative as the design brief requires, initially using sketch book and pen to encourage discussion and provoking ideas. From the outset Julie designs using her knowledge in materials and explores new innovation; providing you with a design that not only exceeds your expectations, is the perfect solution. Which can be efficiently manufactured to your budget and timescale, without any compromise further down the development process.

IDEAS TO COMPLETION
Julie can continue to develop a furniture design or pick up existing concepts, building on ideas and existing thoughts. Projects leap forward as 3-D generated models put scale & materials to concepts. Specifying parts, finishes and manufacturing techniques to create a solution which will have the correct level of information to start engineering drawings and communication to suppliers.

ECONOMIC MANUFACTURING
Understanding your manufacturing capabilities and outsourcing Julie will ensure her engineering drawings will have the correct level of information and set out in a way to provide a continuity for your factory and suppliers. Existing product can be value engineered to ensure cost effectiveness.

Based on ten years working in a furniture manufacturing environment Julies knowledge of materials, construction details and craft cabinet makers methods, support her concept designs & engineering expertise. Creating a very unique set of skills which come together as Design in Detail.
Julie can partner up with individual companies, manufacturers, creative design & interpretation, corporate design/marketing teams to support any aspect of; furniture concept design, development and or the engineering process; or indeed take a project direct from concept to completion, with all the sketches, site measures, drawings & 3-D images and presentations in between!
